In this song, young mum Chloe has come to see her GP with her baby daughter, and we learn about her past and the tragedy surrounding her sister. Demo recording.
The Deep End shines a light on what it is like to live and work in areas of poverty. Set in a GP surgery over the course of a single day, it follows a GP who thinks today could be her last, and the people around her: her husband, her colleagues, a young student doctor, and the patients who walk through her door and need her help.
In general practice, “the Deep End” describes the practices serving the most deprived communities, where staff and patients alike are constantly treading water. The show is written from lived experience by a practising GP.
Who heals the healers? Sometimes, their patients do.
